With all our software released under GPL, it’s time to address some concerns about intellectual property rights, trademarks, especially licenses.
Some common questions and answers:
Can I distribute your software?
Yes. By all means. And we encourage you to do that. Get your creative juices flowing and make something better.
Can I sell your software?
Yes. It’s totally GPL compliant and gives you the freedom in spirit.
I need permission to use / modify / share / sell themes and plugins offered by Binary Turf. Where can I write to you?
You don’t need our permission to do that. Unlike other software providers who license their software under GPL but coerce you not to distribute / sell it or who cite it as “unethical”, we go a step beyond. “We’d never license our software as GPL unless we wanted to”. The GPL gives you explicit permission on what you can do or can’t do with our software. You can read more about it here.
Can I get your software for free?
Our software and services help us to stay afloat. Impress us with your reason and requirements. You can also contact someone who has bought our software. They are free to share it with you as per GPL.
What about trademarks?
GPL is not totally clear about trademarks. All trademarks owned by Binary Turf are the intellectual property of Binary Turf. Usage is allowed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact before using them.
Will you object to my using your brand name / logos / trademarks when I use your software and execute my GPL rights?
There’s a fine line there. As long as it’s done as per GPL we have no issues. But misrepresentation or notoriety is not appreciated.
How can I get in touch with you?
Just use our contact form.
