WP Robot: Setting your wordpress blog on auto-pilot

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could set your blog to something like auto-pilot and sit back and see the magic happen? Sometimes the pingbacks and trackbacks my blog received came from automated blogs which prompted me to search for a plugin with such functionality. Many of them just rewrote or translated the articles, others just published the excerpts or teasers from copied posts.

Overview:

WP Robot is a plugin that blends the best of all the worlds and makes this functionality technically and practically feasible. WP Robot comes for a charge and implements a module-framework within itself. The basic core and the clickbank modules are free of cost while other modules come for a price.

Features and options:

The plugin comes with several options which are extensive but not intimidating. Basically all you have to do is select the keywords you want to post the articles for, set the posting frequency and let go. But the more conservative kinds can set the articles to be saved as draft for further review which helps and I’ll come to that in a minute. Depending on the modules you have, your keywords can post articles of various “kinds” for example having the Amazon module will enable you to post articles relating to Amazon products. You can even insert your affiliate IDs to monetise. The same goes for the ebay module and others.

The articles are grammatically sound since they are fetched from existing sources and there is no translation or conversion introduced. You can categorize articles into various categories, select Amazon departments, eBay categories and Yahoo Answer categories in the options. Each of the WP Robot modules has several sub-options to tweak and customize the settings – these show under a seperate tab under options so the more savvy users can use them. You can even change the posting probability of the articles which means the probability of an article being posting from a certain module.

Pros and Cons:

1. Duplicate content is a risk that comes with auto-pilot software.
2. In principle I would not use WP Robot for blogging. Blogging is my voice and opinion and not an IVR.
3. Works best for affiliate bloggers who have to manage multiple blogs or who run short of post ideas or who would just like to post product information and pitches.
