The next release of Firefox 3 is going to be a Release Candidate (or an RC for short). A release candidate is a special edition of software for public testing and has the potential to be released as the final version if there are no serious bugs (show-stoppers) reported. As per Mozilla's estimates there are about 1.2 million users running a Firefox 3 beta. With that amount of usage, we all want to ensure that your favourite extension works outright when you update to the Firefox 3 release candidate. So hope to see a lot of extensions updated on AMO in the coming days.
