Here’s an assortment of the interesting reads I went through my feeds subscription.
Performancing Interviews Steven Snell From Vandelay Design
I’m relatively a new subscriber of Performancing and Steven Snell’s (from Vandelay Website Design) interview is the first article I read at the site. There’s a lot of learning one can take from the article while it provides a lot of insight on how a webdesign business grows and the effort it takes to establish one. It’s not unlike watching grass grow – the term I came across at ProBlogger. Steven mentions that his blog was quite inactive for the initial three months and then goes on to describe the journey till one year. I’d also like to mention that I have been a subscriber of Vandelay Website Design’s blog for quite sometime now and like the content rich articles they post.
Predictions for Google’s 2008
This one talks about Google in 2008. Only time will tell how much of this comes true I’m however too keen on the development of Google Gears. This is one application that has the potential to change the way people access information. I’d actually go to the extent of saying that this could be the next big thing after Ajax. Google Gears basically provides compatible web applications the functionality to work offline. For example, Google Reader can be used to read your subscribed feeds while you are offline.
Another area of interest for me is Google Docs. I still haven’t moved from MS Office but Google Docs is very appealing especially die to the face that it’s online. This comes to me as a mixed blessing. I don’t have to synchronise my stuff between the several computers I use. But my documents are not accessible offline. Let’s hope Google Docs goes Google Gears compatible.

This article intelligently touches some very basics of web-design which everyone knows but tends to overlook to implement better visuals and/or effects. The article goes an extra step to mention further references for reading.
