Google introduces extended email preferences in AdSense

I don’t remember and never cared to explore if these even existed – there’s already too much mail hitting my inbox. But today when I logged in to my AdSense account I was greeted by a special message notifying me of changes to the AdSense email preferences. You now have some extra email preferences in your AdSense accounts viz.

Customized help and performance suggestions: Receive suggestions from members of the AdSense team for changes you can make to improve performance and earn more from your site.

Newsletters: Receive newsletters with optimization tips, best practices, and other information to help you get the most out of your Google AdSense account.

Google market research: Receive invitations to test new features, surveys about Google AdSense, and opportunities to provide feedback about your experiences.

Special offers: Receive news about AdSense promotions, events, and giveaways. I doubt they exist.

Information about other Google products and services which may be of interest to you: Receive news and special offers from other Google products such as coupons from Google AdWords and other offers Google think will benefit you. Now I’ve never heard of a special offer from Google before.

Mandatory service announcements that relate to your agreement with Google: This one is checked by default and can’t be unchecked.

At first I thought may be it was a not-so-funny way to celeberate April Fool and may be the message was there due to the time zone differences between the US and IST. But later in the day I went back and I could verify these options.
