Google Adsense PIN – A Complete Walkthrough

One of my friends just received their Adsense PIN. He came straight to me and I walked him through the entire process. During this I had my camera around and made some pictures. I noted some distinct features of the mail; it’s difficult for me to remember how it looked at the time I received mine but here it is for you to see.

The friend had been sent two PINs earlier which never reached him (which is understandable in the age of IM communication and Skype). The pics are not to good, we were on shaky grounds too eager to open it up and validate the account.

Front

Here is how it looks as seen from the front. The text “Important Account Information Enclosed” may confuse and illude the postman into believing as if this thing carries something of high value. But the catch is it’s not even a paper-weight if it reaches the wrong person.

Rear

Rear

Here’s the other side. Note the cellophane tape at the sides; I had to tilt and twist the camera to catch the reflection and highlight it. This tape secures it on the three sides. Read further to know why. The top side is just a fold.

Side

Side

This is intelligent. You can’t actually call it an envelope, it’s more of a folded postcard. Just in case the words on the front got anyone excited and eager to keep the thing, they can peep in and take a look – nada – only some text there.

Inside

Inside

Once you are done shooting, cut through the tape and flip open the card. This is how it looks inside.

Next Steps – Entering the Adsense PIN

You must now login to your adsense account. You’ll see the following screen (relevant areas are highlighted).

Click on the "More Details" link

Now you see the "Please enter your PIN"

This links takes you to the next screen (obviously; am I spoon feeding?)

Hi,

congrats on this.

So if the PIN was sent on September 22, 2008 when did he receive it?

Did it take less than a month or longer?

Cheers,
John

You don’t want to hear the answer… Several months actually, thanks to the postal service.

how many months?
I requested the pin just this September after i saw the note that my payments are still on hold. but Google did not send me an e-mail saying that “they have sent me the personal identification pin,so on.. and then 3-4 wks aftr that, i haven’t received any pin,so i request for another issue(second time around), i changed my address, but until now the pin was not sent, no message in my inbox saying they send it already, only message from google about the address that i updated my payment address. the question is should i worry that they do not send me an e-mail regarding that they released my pin? or should i wait until november6 before i make another request of pin?

Its been a long time since I received my pin. However I believe it took me more than a month… almost about two. Never request a second PIN in a hurry. Because if you exhaust all your chances, Google credits back your earnings back to the advertisers and all your effort amounts to nothing.

What could be happening if neither in “Report” nor in “Payment History” they require me to enter my pin? I have received the letter with the pin but in the page doesn’t tell me to put it anywhere. Thank you and sorry for my bad English.

The pink box displayed in my google account says this,
“Your pages are displaying Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) because you haven’t yet verified your PIN and/or phone number. See the Payment History page for more details.” I navigated everywhere to not find the “please enter PIN” link.
Does anyone know what is going on?
