Gmail Outage

A lot of Gmail users have been hit by Gmail outage as I write. The Apps Status Dashboard shows that Google is aware of the outage. And the official word is

We’re aware of a problem with Google Mail affecting a significant number of users. The affected users are unable to access Google Mail. We will provide an update by May 8, 2009 0:19:00 PM UTC detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.

Bad surprise I must say.
