Femme Flora – A two column widgetized theme with a customizable header
Click on the preview to download.
Femme Flora was designed visualizing a soft feminine look with a freshness of the flowers; thus Femme Flora. Femme Flora is a two column theme with a left sidebar. The theme is completely widgetized so you can add widgets to it as you like.
One thing special about Femme Flora is the ability to customize the header. By default the theme uses a picture in the header background. However you can change the header extensively including the font colors of the logo. And to top this all, everything can be done with the header flower intact. Thus I’ve tried a shade of pink in the preview here across the header with the flower in the foreground. The possibilities are endless.

I have a question for you if you could help me please.
I’m using your theme Femme Flora and I love it.
One problem, though, is that the site doesn’t fit within the screen. My users have to scroll back and forth to read the information. Is there a way to reduce the screen size or font size so that does not happen.
Also can I make the side bars smaller than the rest of the info?
What is the resolution of your screen? Generally all the users do not have the same screen resolution thus only some of the many users may have to scroll. With the new monitors in the market, the screen resolutions have grown and thus it does not post problem for most of the large/wider themes.
It is possible to reduce the width of the page area but it is quite complicated and may break the design. If you can mention your site, I can customize the style and send you the new one.
I just started using the Femme Flora theme and love it. The only issue I have is with the blog title. The text of the blog title always appears over the header image. How do I fix this? I want to retain the blog title information for search engines.
My 5 year old daughter loves your template and wants to use it for her cooking blog. I’d like to customize the header and put her photo in it. I checked out the instructions to see where to swap the image file, and it wasn’t clear to me. Any suggestions on which file to replace with her image header? Thanks, Jennifer
Hi Jennifer, Please upload the image to your site where I can download and create a header for you. I’m currently away from my computer but will try to get it done at the soonest.
thank you! I uploaded the image at http://www.juliastestkitchen.com – the image is the largest and most recent. It’s a cooking site for my daughter who is obsessed with cooking at age 5!
Hi Jennifer, Please give me the complete URL of the image so that I can download it if you would like me to modify it for use with Femme Flora.
Hi there!
I really love your theme. I would like to add a favicon, but adding the typical coding caused the whole thing to crash (until I removed the coding). Could you let me know the following?
1) What code do I use to add a favicon?
2) Where should the code be added?
3) Should I add the favicon file to the image folder or some other place?
Thanks in advance for you assistance!
Golda: Please check out this article on how to add a favicon to your wordpress theme.
I really love this theme but I’m having a problem with the header font. When I go in and change the color of the blog title, it appears changed but when I go back out to look at the page, it is not. Do I need to go in and change some code, too? It appears that I shouldn’t have to. I appreciate any help you can give me.
I should say, I’m having a problem with the color, not the font.
Pamela: I’m impressed to see you using Femme Flora with such a beautiful Image. I realize that there’s a bug which will not allow you to change the color of the logo. So you may want to add the following code to the far end of style.css file in the femmeflora theme folder.
By the way, do you mind if we include a screenshot of your site in our portfolio? We’d want to showcase your site as a good example of using Femme Flora.
You can certainly use a screenshot of my site! Thanks so much for asking! Thanks also for sending the code to fix the font color problem in my header, however, it doesn’t seem to be working, or I’ve done something wrong. Should I be adding it anywhere else?
go to the femmeflora folder and edit style.css. Around line no 357 you’ll find
Change that to
Thanks! I had tried that before but it didn’t work. This time, it did! I’m not sure what went wrong before. Anyway, thank you for all of your help. I just love this theme!
Hi,
I’m happily using Femme Flora on one of my sites (http://beinghappytoday.com), and I’m grateful for this lovely theme.
In the past, I’ve modified many WordPress themes, but Femme Flora is baffling me on one little point –
I am unable to find *where* the navbar is created among the theme files, so as to remove the word “Home”. Can you tell me where it is hidden?
I would be grateful, because so far it’s completely eluding me!

That comes from the header.php file in the theme. If you remove line 52 which says
<li id="first" ><a href="” title=”Home”>Home

Hi there,
I’ve been happily using Femme Flora for a while now, but since I upgraded to wordpress 3.0, the top menu is messed up, and I can’t figure out how to fix it.
Please have a look and let me know if you have any suggestions: http://www.bodylovewellness.com.
Thanks!
Golda
I’ve since switched back to Wordpress 2.9.2, so you won’t see the error. I should have been more clear. The pages in the header are showing up with the first 3 looking normal, in white font and lined up properly, and the next few are in black and showing up in bullet points, which are flowing down onto the main page. Thanks again.
