This is what I came to suggest. Implementation would involve storing the last few random tab colors in an array, and comparing all random colors against the array. The comparison would involve doing an OR check on each of the rgb values: something like <pre><code>if (Math.abs(r2 - r1) > 20 || Math.abs(g2 - g1) > 20 || Math.abs(b2 - b1) > 20) { //get new random color } else { //store color in array, probably using Array.unshift }</code></pre>

i'm having the same problem (since 2-3 months). running xp-sp3 on a 32bit lenovo; firefox ver 3.6.10 using amethyst glow theme. already tried disabling and/or uninstalling extensions -- major mess (totally lost tabs, among other things. glad i used mozbackup first. <smile> 'my config' report attached in text format... any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

use regex like "." to determine color for all domains followed by other preset domains in the list. that way default domains get the same color (of your choice).

I've also not been able to get Colorful Tabs to work. It works fine in a new profile but, even with all my addons and plugins disabled, it will not work. I'm using WinXP, FF3.5.3, CT3.9.3. I'm using the default theme Any ideas to get this fantastic addon working would be greatly appreciated!

I know it has been awhile since my last response. It tried disabling every addon one by one and I still cannot get Colorful Tabs to change the tab color to one I choose.

What I do is, if I have 10 addons installed, I disable the first five and check for the problem. If the issue is resolved then probable one is the culprit. Else I disable the other five. Once I know which five are the problem I disable each of those one by one until I know what caused the issue.

I created a new profile and added Colorfultabs. Choose tab color is now working. Do you have any idea which add-on might be blocking this feature?
