I have just installed the fix by bluebunny27 (see Mozilla Add Ons) for Ff 7.0.1.
The code I put in my userChrome file does *not* work in this version.

Hello Nash - I have only just found your ColorfulTabs modification. I suspect it was for
Firefox v5 and thus it will not work in Firefox 7.

Runatik - I have not had a problem downloading the code.

jedi44 - To install an .xpi file just drag it into an open Firefox window.

I do not like the coloured line either. I have put this code in my userChrome file:

     /* Hide: Tabbar Bottom Strip */
/* With 'ColorfulTabs' the colour of the right-most tab shows in the strip */
.tabbrowser-strip .tabs-stack>vbox:first-child:not(:last-child),
.tabbrowser-strip .tabs-stack>vbox>spacer {
display: none !important;
}
.tabbrowser-strip .tabs-stack>vbox>hbox {
border: none !important;
}

ColorfulTabs is not yet updated for Firefox 7 so cannot say if it works.

Hi Nash,
I found this post when I had the same problem. I have downloaded the file but I'm afraid that I don't know what to do with it. Windows doesn't seem to recognise the extension .xpi.
Any hints gratefully received.
Cheers.

You need to be logged in to download. Other than that, I can see no reason why you shouldn't be able to.

Thanks Nash, but when I tried the link it declared "restricted". What to do, what to do..

Also, if you'd like to take a look at my query re downloading/running a second, same version of Firefox (yep, I'd like to run 2 simultaneously), I'd appreciate it. I'm anxious to get a reply, my post includes a suggestion from a 'near and dear', but I'm looking for confirmation before an attempt. [and now suffering from 'little girl' impatience :) ]

While colourful tabs is a great add-on, and my commendations to the author, the latest versions make a thin coloured line under the tab, which just takes up space and is a deal breaker for many.

The following XPI is a version where I simply deleted the code that makes the colored line and now there is no line. Oh Joy.

(there seems to be some Mac specific code dealing with this colored line that was not tampered with. So Mac users will still see a colored line.)

Have fun.

- Nash

I've used Colorfultabs and Aeon Colors with Firefox 3 on my Mac. I accidentally updated my Firefox to 4.0 and of course it clobbered Colorfultabs and AEON. Is there a Mac compatible upgrade in the works?

When using add-ons like "Speed Dial", "New Tab King", "New Tab JumpStart" or other add-ons which you use in a tab, it would be great if you could give them a specific color! So by adding "chrome://speeddial", for example, in the presets you should be able to give the Speed Dial tabs their own color! This would be very useful for me, since it has a to common color right now (I use "Generate Colors By Domain Hostname"), and I need to distinguish them quickly.

Thanks in advance!
