Is there a way to have colorful tabs off (or the equivalent) by default and be able to only have tabs be colored if I select "Re-Color Tab"?

Basically, what I was hoping for is to have only selected tabs colored and the rest be uncolored, instead of having a mess of colors across my tab bar.

Noticed some behavior after upgrading to FF version 9.0.1 with ColorfulTabs 9.0.

1) If you use folders on the Bookmark Toolbar to hold a number of bookmarks under one icon, the folder may not open when clicked on the first time. You have to click on a different bookmark or folder, then slide the mouse over the desired folder. Uninstalling ColorfulTabs fixed the problem.

2) The X to close a tab would sometimes disappear. Opening a new tab would redraw the tabs and the X would then appear on the other tabs. Again, the problem resolved itself when uninstalling ColorfulTabs.

Pretty much clean Firefox with only some adblock and popup block extensions. Windows 7 OS.

Let me kn ow if I can be of any assistance in reproducing the problem.
Thanks
Darv

I have setup Colorful Tabs to Generate Colors by Hostname. I Enabled Preset Domain Colors. For example I set binaryturf.com to red (FF0000) the tab when loaded, does not change to this color. I even restarted firefox after changing the Colorful Tab options. I am running Firefox version 3.1 and Colorful Tab version 3.4. Any ideas?

I am interested in finding out if Colorful Tab can be setup to just highlight the current opened tab with a different color than the other tabs that displayed across the top of the screen. In other words, assume I have 7 tabs opened, I would like all of the tabs that are not the currently opened tab to be a gray color and the opened tab to be a blue color. That way I can easily distinguish which of the 7 tabs is the currently open tab.
I am not interested in each tab being a different color.
Does Colorful tabs have that option?

Pretty simple. An option to select a color for the active/selected tab.

Some generic usage example could be using all grey tabs with active tab set to blue, red, or whatever.

An already existing example would be how the Add-ons Manager tab is always purple.

Used with the background image for tabs feature, some pretty interesting results could be had.

Normally, I wouldn't post something like this for all to see. However, you offer no option but to use this forum.

On your page http://ctab.binaryturf.com/70.htm, you overwhelmingly use American English spelling (COLOR), including in the name of the product.

In the Features and Options section, you mix in five instances of British English spelling (COLOUR).

Just thought you might like to know.

This is happening with Firefox 8 Beta (x86 - official FF build) and Colorfultabs 7 in Windows 7 x64.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Pin any website to your Firefox Jumplist in Windows 7 and shutdown Firefox completely.
2. Start a completely fresh instance of Firefox.
3. Right click on the Firefox icon in your taskbar to display the Windows Jumplist.
4. Click on the website you "pinned" to the jumplist in Step #1 to have it open in Firefox.
5. Once that new tab has loaded in Firefox, try to move it in front the tab that was already opened in Firefox when you did Step #2.

What happens: The new tab, that you opened via the pinned website in your Jumplist, can't be dragged infront of the other tab.

What should happen: You should be able to drag the tab normally.

This problem is related only to Colorfultabs, as I've tested in "Safe Mode" with no addons and with just Colorfultabs turned off and this problem doesn't happen.

I've attached my settings in Colorfultabs below. Note, I also have the options in “Presets” and “Color Fine-Tuning” turned off.

This addon is indispensable to me.
In Seamonkey 2.2 and 2.3 the only version that works well is the 4.8.1.6.1 (+ Compatibility Reporter) but with one detail: the band is not as pictured below (very helpful).
It would be possible to solve this little detail?
Thank you very much!

Seamonkey 2.* :-/

The text glow was incorporated in version 4.8.1.4 and is very annoying for some of us, plus it makes reading tabs' titles harder. Please, add an option to disable it.
Here's an example:
