variety of colors

ColorfulTabs doesnt seem to have a large variety of colors, so its common to have different sites with the same tab color. This is not good if you want to distinguish between tabs. Perhaps you can use a larger palette of colors?

There are only 360 colors that I could count. However I can't count the sites there are.

I know it would be impossible to have a unique color for each site, thats why I just asked for more colors.

ColorfulTabs uses the HSL color space to color the tabs. Of these, the H value is determined by the domain and saturation and luminance are fixed. There is no restriction on the value of hue thus all the maximum possible colors are already being used.

Ok fine then.
BTW whats the difference between "Use Default Palette" and "Generate colors at random"? -
The default palette is actually the classic palette that the first version of colorfultabs came out with. It consists of fixed 32 colors so only 32 unique colors are there. Moreover the tabs are colored serially that is the first color will always be blue, the second green etc. The color cycle restarts when you exceed 32 tabs and the coloring starts over from color 1. Nice for users who always have particular sites open at particular positions. I use gmail as the first tab and so on.

Is it possible to edit the default palette? I prefer using it but there are a few colors in there that I am not fond of.

Not yet. but you can manually color the tabs from the context menu.
