ColorfulTabs Welcome page shows every time firefox loads
-
The welcome page for ColorfulTabs, the one that says it will show only once, shows every time firefox loads and I cannot find it's URL in any of the FF config files. Can someone please tell me how to disable this page and get back to only my start page loading on opening FF?

You may be having some session saving enabled. What have you set up as your homepage? Do you restore the last saved session or do you load the homepage(s)?
-
no session saving is being used, just loading the default firefox home page. I have searched all the firefox config files for the url being loaded and it's not in there, is there a way to disable this in something to do with the extension?
-
you'll have to manually change a preference. What is the version of ColorfulTabs you are using?
- Go to about:config.
- Type extensions.clrtabs.firstrun. in the filter box.
- Set the value of extensions.clrtabs.firstrun to the version of ColorfulTabs installed on the browser.
- Restart and test again.
-
looks like it's still doing it.. I'm gonna hit the firefox code and see if that is where the bug is and try to fix it if it is.

What other extensions are you using? Does disabling ColorfulTabs resolve the issue?
-
disabling colorful tabs does not fix, it seems it may be a firefox issue, as I has a similar problem with the first run page with FF, and my last few days experience with Firefox Support says others are having this problem with a variety of extensions. Thanks for getting back to me quickly, I will let you know if I run into a fix that works.

I just went through the same thing with some add-ons that I'd updated, and then (after removing them all via Safe Mode) I updated Firefox to the latest version thinking that might help. Instead, every time I started Firefox I got an extra page telling me I'd upgraded to the latest version of Firefox! LOL Took me a while, but I finally found the answer:
Your preferences are corrupted. Sounds worse than it is, and it's very easy to fix. Just close Firefox, go to your Profile folder and delete prefs.js then restart Firefox and you're good to go.
You may have to reset some preferences, but the problem will be gone!To get to your Profile folder go to Start > Run then type in %APPDATA% and browse to your Mozilla folder. In that is your Firefox folder. In that is your Profile folder. Within the Profile folder you will find the prefs.js file.
