Colorfultabs Not Working
-
-----
Go to the "Where did my Colorful Tabs go?" thread for the answer! I got mine back in a very short time. The answer is also below:
Have you checked your userchrome.css files?
Go to Tools > Add-ons > ColorfulTabs > Options and see if you are able to open up the dialog box. If not then possibly ColorfulTabs is disabled or try uninstalling ColorfulTabs and reinstalling it.-----

What is userChrome.css: http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css
If you don't want to read that article, here are the basic steps to see if userChrome.css is the problem:
1. Finding the file
userChrome.css is located in the the "chrome" folder in your profile folder. To find the profile folder: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder. If you don't want to read that article, here are the steps that should work if you use windows: a) press windows+r b) type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ c) navigate in the window that comes up: Firefox > Profiles > [your profile folder] (unless you have created more profiles only one folder exists) - now you have opened your profile folder!
As I wrote, userChrome.css is located in the the "chrome" folder, so open that folder.
2. Now, check if the file userChrome.css exists at all (be sure to not mix it up with names such as userContent.css, userContent-example.css and userChrome-example.css). If it doesn't, userChrome.css obviously isn't the problem.
3. If it exists: Move it to your desktop.
4. Exit Firefox by using File > Exit, to completely exit Firefox.
5. Restart Firefox. Now check if that solved the problem. If it did, userChrome.css was the problem. However, you may at the same time notice other changes of the look of Firefox if the userChrome.css file contained more code than that making problems with ColorfulTabs. In that case you must open userChrome.css (in Notepad for example) and remove that specific code. However, if you didn't experience any problems after moving the userChrome.css file, you can now safely delete it.If userChrome.css wasn't the problem, I'd suggest you to make a new clean profile to test ColorfulTabs in, and if it works start using and customizing that profile.
