4.4 update: two problems seen
-
1. I use Morning Coffee to open about a dozen tabs. The first one in the list would not close when I clicked the x. Others closed as normal.
2. trying to get rid of tab, closed Firefox, choosing "quit" (*not* "save tabs"). On starting Firefox again, tabs came back. Closed one tab, other tabs vanished; closed Firefox and restarted, tabs came back.
Never had a problem with either Morning Coffee or Colorful Tabs before this update.

Please reinstall version 4.3 to see if the problem still occurs.

Got up this morning, 5/29/2010, and automatically accepted the latest colorful tabs update for Firefox (also the latest version). Upon opening multiple tabs, I discovered the X for closing each tab individually had disappeared.
Help?
-
Sorry, we don't change any other functions than the color of the tabs. Might be something else.
-
Same thing for me also.
No X to close tab and nothing to open a new tab -
Try to disable colorfultabs and see if the X reappears.
-
Ok I disabled colofutabs and actually rebooted and nothing still having the problem. Occasionally I'll get a blue dot both on left and right top corner of tabs and can close from the right, sometimes I get a flashing dot on the right if I have updated a page, if I'm quick enough I can close it at that point. However it's very random as to when that will happen.

More information, my inhouse tech had me do the following:
in address bar type about:config
you'll get a warning - click the I'll be careful button
then in the filter bar, type browser.tabs
click on browser.tab.closeButtons
look to the right the Value should be 1 if it already is, my tech suggest uninstalling and going to a previous version.OR in my case I wound up accidentally choosing a different theme instead of my usual walnut and low and behold the X came back. Apparently there was a conflict between the Walnut theme and the updated colorful tabs. -
As per the inof you have provided changing the theme resolved the issue. Let me reiterate - ColorfulTabs does not change your close-tab button. That is a function of your theme and whatever preferences you have set.
