Tab Movement With Keyboard Shortcuts

Firefox’s extensibility now provides you the freedom of moving the opened browser tabs with keyboard. Firefox add-on “Move Tabs” allows you to take up the charge of browser tabs movement with the keyboard. “Move Tabs” empowers you to become keyboard savvy; allows you to place and arrange the tabs with keyboard shortcuts:

  • “Ctrl+Shift+Home” and “Ctrl+Shift+End” — to place/move the currently active tab to the beginning and the end of tab row, respectively.
  • “Ctrl+Shift+PageUp” and “Ctrl+Shift+PageDown” — to sequentially move the active tab from left to right/right to left.

The add-on is compatible with Firefox 3.5 – 4.0 b7.

It’s time to increase your productivity; master the keyboard shortcuts for all your daily tasks.

Thanks for sharing the information. For moving the tabs, I use “ctrl+tab” and “ctrl+shift+tab”. Using “Ctrl+Shift+PageUp” and “Ctrl+Shift+PageDown” is good too but we have to use both hands to do it. Whereas, “ctrl+tab” and “ctrl+shift+tab” gives you the mobility to use your right hand while shifting tabs with the left one.

@Matthew: Thanks for the tip. Ctrl+Shift+PageUp etc. can become challenging when using laptops too.
