You can easily share your bookmarks across the browsers — Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer, etc. All the browsers offer this feature by default; so no need to install any add-ons or extensions. All you need to do is to use the Export/Import utility provided by your browsers. You need to export your bookmarks to HTML file (from the source browser) and later import the same HTML file to the destination browser. Here’s the step-by-step guide on how to export your bookmarks to other browsers:
- Open the Firefox browser window and select Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks or simply press “Ctrl+Shift+B”.
- Select Export HTML… from “Import and Backup” drop-down.
- Save the HTML file on the desktop (the file is named bookmarks.html by default).
- Open the destination browser window (say Google Chrome for example).
- Click on the wrench icon and select Bookmark Manager.
- Select Import bookmarks… from “Organize” drop-down.
- Locate and select exported HTML file — bookmarks.html (on desktop).
- Observe the Firefox bookmarks enlisting in Google Chrome’s Bookmarks Manager.
You can perform the same task with the help of an add-on as well. For synchronising, Xmarks Sync is a Firefox add-0n which helps you synchronize your bookmarks across IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera without any effort.
