I compiled the source of Firefox 3.5 beta 5 and 3.0.10 over the weekend. There has been a version change in the 3.1 series as the developers decided that due to the many changes in the 3.1 series, the next in the series needs to be versioned 3.5. This after 3.1 beta 3 we have 3.5 beta 4. I completely skipped 3.0.9 due to the short duration between the 3.0.8 and the 3.0.10 releases. Both versions feature SSE and SSE3 builds. These are optimized builds and feature the unofficial branding of Firefox.

So far so good…it does seem to me that it is faster and I haven’t encountered any compatibility issues yet!! Thanks for the great articles.
