Fennec is Firefox for mobiles. Opera has long been available for cellphones and we’ve been using it on one of the cheap ones we have. Now that Fennec is out, you need the proper platform that can run Fennec. Currently Fennec requires Maemo OS2008 and Maemo 5 software platforms running on the Nokia N810 and N900 Internet Tablets and Windows Mobile 6 devices.
But if you want to get a preview of this version of Firefox for mobile devices, you can download a copy which would run on your Windows desktop. That way you not only can toy around with Fennec, if you are an extension developer running on a budget this would make more sense than anything else. Download Fennec 1.03 or 1.05b for Windows.
