ColorfulTabs version 3.8 comes alive on AMO

ColorfulTabs 3.8 was released today. The new version comes with several bug-fixes and had been eagerly awaited for compatibility with the newer Firefox 3.1 beta releases.

Following are the bugs that have been fixed in this release.

Changes:

  • Added a default background image by default to enhance visibility of the selected tabs.

I found that adding a background-image by default made the appearance more pleasing as it adds transparency to the background tabs. How do you like it?

So how do I get back the original background?

It looks terrible with the new background and pretty bad without any background as I have it now.

I think Amy has a good suggestion with the highlighted edge and I agree with Tim Poston about this update making the active tab more prominent.

ohh – and I had to up the fade level to 3 with this current background that I’m using. It was smart to have this feature included. Play around with it for each background/color scheme/theme that you choose.

i dont like the “clutter” in the tabs bar, is there a way to turn it off? it may be just my eyes, i am having vision trouble and having surgery soon… in general, need higher contrast, minimum distracting clutter.

Given the extensive customization options, every change in this version can be customized, enabled or disabled. If there’s something you still can’t figure out after reading the documentation please create a thread at the support forums and I’ll be more than happy to assist you with the same.
