ColorfulTabs v3.6

ColorfulTabs v3.6 is a minor update with some significant bugfixes for the Mac users. In the last version users reported that they were not able to save the new domain preferences added in the last version. There was a quirk – all the domains are stored into a single preference. On the Mac you have the preference “instantApply” turned on by default which does not play nicely with elements not tied to a preference. This thing broke the preference saving for the domains which were dynamically loaded and saved.

Hope this release get back some Mac users into the family. Enjoy and if you have any support requests head on to Binary Turf Forums.

How is it possible that a simple thingy like some color in a tab can be so useful? Having a dozen of extensions, and the extension most visible is… “ColorfulTabs”.

Thank you so much for fixing the glitch that affected Mac OS X in V3.5. I found that the color chart available at the webmonkey site, http://www.webmonkey.com/reference/Color_Charts, was very useful in making color selections.

I love ColourfulTabs. It turns Firefox from the best browser to the best looking browser. As for making web colour selections, as Bruce discussed, the best site to do this VisiBone Webmaster’s Color Lab at http://www.visibone.com/colorlab/big.html. Unlike Webmonkey it’s dynamic and allows you to compare coloured elements.

Even though this update doesn’t effect me much, I’d like to say that ColorfulTabs enlighten my whole webexperience. Thanks!

Why do you have to update so frequently for such a simple extension. Please cut back on the number of updates

Love ColorfulTabs man, and especially love the domain preferences. Now I can easily see what my 10+ tabs are without even reading, which I cannot thank you enough for!

Keep the updates coming man: this is the most active extension I have, and it is also the best!

Maybe one of the next updates could make it work with the Tab Sidebar add-on?

Help please. Thank you. I want cnn.com, nytimes.com & omaha.com (all news sites) too be one tab color. I enabled “Generate colors by domain hostname” checked Enable Preset Domain Colors, set those three domains to the same color, but, they still have 3 different colors. Help please. Thank you. Hello:

Where do I find a “READ ME” file, or a user guide for the COLORFUL TABS menu options and explanation of OPTIONS settings .

On my Windowx XP using FF, I have colorful tabs and the red “x” to close each tab is red while the tab itself is in a different color. But on my laptop using Vista and FF, the close (“x”) button is the same color as the tab. I can’t seem to figure out how to get the close button to be in red. Any clues anyone?

Like the colorful tabs, dislike the perpetual updates, abhor the most recent update. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, MAN? Is there some way I can go back to the previous version? If not, COLORFUL TABS IS HISTORY.

Cheers

EDIT: went to your forum, found out about CT options, all is well. THANKS.

I’d like to say a big THANK YOU for Colourful Tabs! It’s made my browser even more fun :D But I’d like to ask, where might I be able to view a “readme” page for Colourful Tabs? Or a help/info page? Because on a few websites I’ve visited, a square flashes very fast, several times (with different colours). Might this be due to a “bugged/virus” filled web site? Is it a warning? Pls reply and thank u once again for THE BEST add on ever!

A million and one apologies. I have found the forum and help sections. But I still do not know why the box appears amd flashes several times, in several different colours…? I’ll stick to the “warning” theory unless told otherwise! LOVE LOVE LOVE COLOURFULTABS!!!! :D

firefox update 3.05 and colorful tabs update v3… everytime open firefox, tab loads stating what’s new in colorful tabs .. never did before, but not worth the effort to keep closing the tab . very disappointed

WOW. I just went to this comments site and saw there was a newer version of ColorfulTabs listed. Went to download it and found a newer version: 3.8.

And it works with Firefox 3.1 Beta 2

WOW. Thanks. I really missed ColorfulTabs.

Thank you, Thank you. This is Christmas for my Computer this year.

After using ColorfulTabs 3.8, my FireFox 3.05 crashes frequently. It usually happens when the 3rd, 4th tab is opened.

having bad eysight i love your addon very much.
but there is a problem: i cannot fix the color of the tab and of the text.

to say it clearly: iwould prefer BLACK text an a light color (light blue) (i use fading 7), so that i can read easily and see in which tab i am working.

for me i could all be the same color: the fading effect is most important.
sometimes it is brown on blue and that is hard to read.

i know i can determine the color for a tab but after reloading it is vanished.

thats whats most important for me is to see in which tab i am working (there are sometimes 10-20 open.

another wish: could you add a function on the contextmenu: “delete all tabs right from here”. Because when “going back” from right to left this would help to clarify the tabmenu !

thanks for your great addon
