I'm pleased to announce the first release of the extension ColorfulTabs for Flock. The extension is a port of the Firefox compatible version of ColorfulTabs. I had received numerous requests in the past to make ColorfulTabs compatible with Flock. This however was not feasible for several reasons. For one, Firefox and Flock generally build off the different versions of the same Firefox source code. Thus there are quite a few differences there and maintenance of the same extension code for compatibility with two different browsers would have always been a tough fight. Another is the UI. Flock uses different tab images than Firefox.

The result was thus a different extension for Flock featuring the same functionality on Flock. I have not yet uploaded it on the Flock addons portal and currently working with the Flock team to have a developer account up and running. You can meanwhile download ColorfulTabs for Flock from the Software section here.

I'm considering the feasibility of porting ColorfulTabs for other browsers. However with limited time and resources the only driving force is the interest in the favour of which I can sacrifice time and resources.

How about an upgrade so it works with Flock 2.0?
