BinaryTurf a victim of plagiarism

I’ve been busy attending to my family’s  medical emergency. When I got some time off I fired up Firefox and checked incoming links to my website. There was a new inbound link with the exact same phrases which I used on my site. Curious I browsed to the site and to my astonishment I realised that my entire blog had been copied as is by http://binaryturf100.blogspot.com. Yes they will gain traffic if you checkout the site. But for now I’ve emailed them asking to take down the content infringing upon my copyright.

The reality is people want to make money and blogging is one popular way to it. It is easy to copy and republish an entire blog to get search engine traffic to click on your ads and fetch you some easy money. However there are certain consequences one should be aware of. There are legal as well as social (in hte social-networking sense). I have initiated communication with the concerned entity responsible and awaiting a response. However polished bloggers can be too serious about these issues and I’m just one. Imagine this. You spend your savings buying a flat on one of the prime locations only to realise that your possession papers have been forged and someone is claiming the flat as theirs.

I’ve been waiting to bring up this topic and discuss it with you indepth. But right now my family needs me and I shall not be able to do justice to the post if I try to cover the subject in its entirety. So keep watching to know what happens next.

Update: The blog owner replied back and was quick to remove the blog.

I’m glad that this situation was resolved but I seriously doubt that this will be hte last of such cases. If you need any help in the future, just let me know. I’ll gladly do what I can.

Congrats on getting the content removed!

Absolutely. These kinds of cases keep happening and I think bloggers and content creators should be made aware of how to handle these. I’ve bookmarked your blog to come back and read later. Thanks for passing by.

These king of cases were/are/will be common in the times to come. After all what we can do to stop someone from copying. But we should not worry as Google can identify the duplicate content by using the date of indexing. So make sure that your article is indexed first before the copy cats article.
