We have chosen to go the do-follow way. All the comment links and trackback links will be followed. The ‘nofollow’ attribute is one of the attributes of the anchor tag which tells the Google bot not to follow the link. We had been using the ‘nofollow’ attribute all the time to avoid encouraging spammers. However with some good spam handling Wordpress plugins in place we can afford to follow these links now.
We got the inspiration from the StartupMeme Technology Blog which does the same. Our do follow policy is also a perk for visitors who comment on Binary Turf (and additionally on AdvancedPhotography.Net) and share their valuable opinion with everyone here. We are a popular blog with a Google pagerank of 5; however we’d like to mention that we follow up strictly on fake trackbacks and comment links and moderate them without delay. If you have a blog or a homepage and a thought you’d like to share with us comment now.
Update: Not anymore. I got better things to do than to check up on spam. I find that comments are there to share your inputs than to promote your blog/site.

I think its the right move considering the fact that people love commenting and sharing their views on the do follow blogs as they gain an important backlink.

A comment follow is as simple as showing some politeness and being grateful in a little way. It doesn’t hurt at all, it shows professionalism when done the right way and sincerely.
I am new to blogging and this seemed like a good way to start. Do I use my email name or have another identity? Also a brief tutorial on the blog system would be helpful if you have the time. Thank you.
