Let’s dive in straight – they’ve already wasted a lot of my productive time.
-
Google AdSense -
Undoubtedly the number one on any blogger’s list is Google AdSense. You can’t resist checking it one last time when you think of it. If only Google could make it update every 24 hours like Chitika. That would be a service to the blogger community resulting in a revolutionary productivity boost.
-
IM -
I use Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger. Both bug me like anything. Even though my status shows as busy people take the leverage of pinging me. Now it’s really my call to reply or not but it’s a time waster anyway.
-
G/Mail -
Or any mail service for that matter. It just kills a lot of time to be checking mails every now and then. I’ve found some mail notification addons which help, but in the end I think it’s about self-discipline.
-
YouTube -
The designers have taken care to not let visitors leave. There’s “more from the user” and there’s “related videos” everyone better than the other. You can spend hours there and not know when the day has been over.
-
My own site(s) -
I’m not sure if other blogger’s have this experience, there’s something – maybe just curiosity – that makes me open up my site one last time to appreciate how elegant it looks. Regular visitors would have noticed that I’ve done some un-cluttering in the last two days to make it just a little more elegant. And then there’s always that one last thing I want to tweak to make the blog look better. Are you obsessed with your blog the same way?
What’s your top time waster? Come on…

1 – When i use Google Earth, i can’t resist to spend some time seeing my own town… i know the town, is the same image than yesterday, but… today isn’t yesterday, and i still seeing the same image.
2 – The RSS is another. Everytime i launch Firefox, i open the extension to check if the are anything new (of course… BinaryTurf is one of them)
3 – The Firefox Release page. I can’t wait to see a new beta or new version or new whatever from Firefox… (In fact, i’m using the 3.1b3 with the check compatibility disabled)
My list goes like this:
1.Cricinfo: checking latest updates
2.Awstats of my site.
3.Orkut
4.Gmail
5. Gtalk
as you earn more so you check adsense more frequently
Orkut… oh ya, how could anyone miss that!
Digg, digg and digg. I can’t seem to get enough of the site.
I think google adsense is no longer the same as it was before, I mean, not that “active” as before. Just my opinion. In relation to google earth, its a very nice idea from google. I like its concept and its purpose is marvelously good.
