My Adsense earnings have been reduced to less than half. Digging into the issue I realized that Adsense ads are no more served by the old server but instead use the new Google acquired Doubleclick servers to serve the ads. Hovering the cursor over these ads does not show up the url on the status bar. So I had to fire up the DOMinspector instead to pull out the information. Click on the image to see full size.
I can only wonder if going for an alternative makes more sense. I’ve been really looking forward to implement Chitika but those ads don’t appear elegant. It’s been an uphill task for Chitika to co-exist with Adsense and they have really themed up their ads to appear distinct from Adsense. And finally they’ve lost their elegance. But I’ll only be willing to implement one of these at a time. Only time will tell. Have you noticed a decrease in your Adsense earnings?

In regards to our ads appearing elegant…we now offer “tabless” ads. You have two different versions to choose from. Our CTR is consistently higher than that of Adsense or any other CPC ad for that matter.
I wouldn’t say that it has been an uphill task for Chitika to co-exist with Adsense. We know have over 25,000 publishers running our ad with Adsense.
