45 Interesting Firefox Addons we never knew Existed – III

Here’s the third and last part of the article 45 Interesting Firefox Addons we never knew Existed. We covered 15 addons in part I and part II each so if you are new here you may want to check it out first. We’ll wait.

Ok welcome back.

  1. One-Click Installer for WP: – Install plugins or themes on your self-hosted WordPress blogs with a single click (needs the related WP plugin to work; not intended for Wordpress.com) .
  2. OPIE: Import/Export extension preferences. Cool isn’t it?
  3. Open Profile Folder: Open current profile folder from “Tools” menu or toolbar button.
  4. Override Mozilla Firefox Guidance: Randomly implements several essentially unhelpful – yet almost funny – error pages, when a website cannot be reached. Grandmas beware!
  5. Panic: Are you looking at stuff you shouldn’t be? Whether you are browsing through social networking sites while you’re at work or wandering around MySpace while you’re at school? Well this extension gives you the ability to close all tabs, while opening another one that will make it look like you are doing what you should be doing.
  6. Paragrasp: This Firefox extension adds a highlight to the paragraph you’re reading, and with a single keystroke, moves to the next, automatically.
  7. QuickDrag: Extends the function of the drag-and-drop mouse gesture so that it can be used to load URLs, do a web search of selected text on a page, or save an image on a page. The successor to Super DragAndGo.
  8. Screengrab: Screengrab! saves entire webpages as images.
  9. SkipScreen: Skips unnecessary pages on sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload, zShare, Mediafire, and more.
  10. Smart Bookmarks Bar: Smart Bookmarks Bar extension hides bookmarks names and only showing icons. Bookmark names will be displayed on mouse over.
  11. Splash: Adds a splash screen to most Mozilla and Mozilla Based products. Supports sound, opacity, CSS customization, custom images, and much more. You can add {appVersion}, {buildID} and {userAgent} to the loading text and it will be filled in for you.
  12. Tree Style Tab: Show tabs like a tree.
  13. UnHide fields: Allow you to view and edit hidden fields in forms.
  14. Vfox3: Apple style with Firefox. Clean, professional and elegant theme.
  15. WebChunks: Webchunks is a Firefox3 implementation of Microsoft Webslices (feature appeared with IE8).

This list came after I surfed through more than 3000 Firefox addons and I hope you’ve enjoyed this series. Which are the ones you use?

Great list you’ve got there. Screengrab and SkipScreen seem good. Another add-on that I really like is Billeo. The tool is great at managing passwords. It securely saves them and allows me to access, edit or delete them anytime. Billeo is VeriSign secured and also compatible with the new Firefox 3.5.

Grease Monkey is mostly used. But that is popular as many people used it.The ones i found interesting is Screengrab.Sounds cool.No need to save complete web pages as HTML files.Images take much less space.

Thanks for this exhaustive research. Tree style tabs should be built into FF, as it’s much easier to use than the horizontal strip. I’d also like to see the ability to split a single sidebar into two halves: top half tabs, bottom half bookmarks, for example.
