10 ways to prep up your blog for the holiday season

holiday 10 ways to prep up your blog for the holiday season

It is never too early to plan things for your blog. And especially now as the holiday season doesn’t seem too far off, let’s see how you can prep up your blog for it.

  1. Clean the clutter: These ads in the sidebar do have some value but what about the extra blocks that are just nothing more than a space hog? They are doing little else than distracting your readers. Get rid of them for now.
  2. Get a redesign: Perhaps its a time for a new look. Or a little pep up of the branding or just rearrangement of certain blocks. Maybe the search widget can make its place in the header. Now that you have uncluttered the space, time to see what you can place there which really can justify their presence.
  3. Refine the Advertisements: If you haven’t done this already, take time out to categorize the ads on your blog. Keep the ones that work. Experiment with the new ones because the holiday season is not too close either. You’ll have a better idea what works best and where to place it.
  4. Rev up your older posts: Starting from the latest, revise and edit your posts for any errors or expression, formatting etc. That way you’ll make sure at least the posts on the front page will be renewed. Take time out to find a creative common licensed picture from Flickr for the post that doesn’t have an image. Give your blog the expression and formatting of a pro.
  5. Theme up your blog’s logo: It sets the mood right for the casual visitor while signing a change for the regular readers.
  6. Relate your newer articles to the mood of the season: If you are reviewing cameras, write about the model that is awaited this season. If you write shopping tips, you won’t have to think too far off.
  7. Advertise with other bloggers: The current state of affairs of the financial market is not very conductive for expenditure. Advertise your blog on other blogs by forming mutually benifitial partnerships.
  8. Launch a new blog: Start that other blog you’ve been waiting to launch. The holiday season has most of the readers in a festive spirit and the traffic is usually higher than other times of the year. Give your new blog a grand launch.
  9. Advertisement rates: Revise the rates for the as space on your site.
  10. Lure advertisers: Give a special discount to advertisers for early-bird sign-ups.
